What is the most popular cup of coffee? It can legitimately be said that it is a matter of taste belonging to the individual. What one person desires can be entirely different then what another desires. What one would consider popular could be the least popular with another.
In terms of what the general population prefers, well there are certain brands that sell more than others. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the coffee is better of course, it just means that the company has successfully marketed and distributed their product. If we look at popularity in terms of sales then often we are looking at skewed numbers.
If we want to determine the most popular cup of coffee then looking at survey’s can often be helpful. Determining popularity from a survey can even be very difficult because the population surveyed must be taken into consideration. Perhaps what is popular to one population would not be popular among another. It can easily be said that a particular brand of coffee can certainly popular among a particular population because they have been heavily marketed to.
Determining popularity is a tricky matter. What is apparent however is that traditional coffee brands which are most frequently sold in stores are often the ones we recognize most. We purchase them usually out of habit not necessarily because it is our favorite. Many will forego purchasing their favorite because of cost and end up with a less expensive, less desired brand.
The question, what is the most popular cup of coffee is one that may never officially be answered. I will consider what is most popular in my home and it is the one that is the most flavorful and the least expensive. Needless to say, the most popular cup of coffee in our home changes week to week.
